Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 October 2026

This policy explains how Acevia handles your personal information. Acevia is a trading name of Acevia Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17359952). We are the data controller responsible for your personal information.

If you have any questions about this policy or about how we use your data, you can contact us at hello@acevia.uk.

The short version

We collect very little. If you sign up to our newsletter, we keep your email address so we can send you occasional updates. That's the only personal information we deliberately collect. We don't sell it, we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

What we collect and why

Newsletter sign-ups. If you enter your email address to subscribe, we store it so we can send you the occasional update we've promised. Your email address is stored securely by Squarespace, which hosts our site, and every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. If you unsubscribe, you're removed from the list.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our site is built on Squarespace, which collects some basic technical information automatically when you visit — such as your device type, browser, and general usage patterns. This is used to keep the site working and to understand, in broad terms, how visitors use it. It doesn't identify you personally.

Cookies

Our site uses cookies. Some are necessary for the site to function; others help us understand how the site is being used through Squarespace's built-in analytics.

We also take part in the Amazon Associates programme. When you click a link to a product on Amazon, Amazon may place a cookie on your device so that, if you go on to buy something, we're credited with a small commission. This costs you nothing extra and doesn't change the price you pay. Any information collected in that process is handled by Amazon under their own privacy policy, not by us.

How long we keep your information

We keep your email address for as long as you're subscribed to our newsletter. If you unsubscribe, we remove it. We don't keep personal information longer than we need to.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information or share it for anyone else's marketing. The only third parties involved are the services we use to run the site and mailing list — Squarespace (which hosts the site and stores our mailing list) — and they only process your information on our behalf, under their own data protection obligations.

Where your data is processed or stored by these providers outside the United Kingdom (for example, in the United States), we ensure appropriate legal safeguards are in place — such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework — so your data receives the same level of protection as it would in the UK.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Because the only thing we hold is your newsletter email address, in most cases you can act on this yourself simply by unsubscribing. If you'd like us to confirm or delete what we hold, email hello@acevia.uk and we'll deal with it.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal information, please tell us first at hello@acevia.uk so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
